Movement
McCoy needs to travel to the end of each area to continue on his journey to the Ruins of Calavera. Use the arrow keys to run, and press A to jump (hold A to jump higher). Use the down arrow to duck, and press A while holding the down arrow to drop through platforms.

McCoy can also use ropes and ladders to move through an area. Jump to ladders and ropes to automatically grab them, and use the arrow keys to shimmy across ropes. You can jump from ropes and ladders, and can drop from ropes and ladders by holding the down arrow.

All controls can also be changed within the Menu.
Attacking
Your attacks are different depending on which weapon you’re using! Press S to attack, and if you don’t have a weapon equipped, McCoy will fight with his fists. If you’re using a weapon that can be aimed (like guns and throwing objects), use the arrow keys to aim while attacking. To aim while standing still, first press and hold the up arrow, then hold the left or right arrow to aim diagonally. You can also do a low attack while ducking.

Weapons
Find weapons on the ground for stronger attacks! Enemigos may also drop their weapons when killed. Weapons only last for so long before they break or run out of ammo, so keep grabbing new weapons as you go. To pick up a weapon, press the down arrow while standing over it. To drop a weapon, press D. Each weapon has a different attack power, so experiment with different weapons you find along the path! Be careful, you can’t use your weapon while you’re climbing on ropes and ladders.

Grabbing Objects
You can pick up and throw various objects throughout each area! Stand on or behind an object, and press the down arrow to pick it up. Press the down arrow or D to drop an object without breaking it, or press S to throw an object at enemies! Move crates and boulders to other locations, and climb on them to get to out-of-reach areas! Grab chickens to glide through the air! Move or break objects to find weapons or money inside!

Interactive Objects
McCoy will need to use a variety of interactive objects in each area to reach the end of the level. Grab Barrel Rockets to fly through the air and break through walls, and you can steer them during flight. Grab zip-lines to quickly travel across gaps, and use Ladder Spears to create handholds wherever you need them. Push heavy trunks and mine carts out of your way (and ride them too!).

Juggling Enemigos
Gangs of brand-new Enemigos are trying to stop you from reaching Malana Mire! After you knock out an enemy, he’ll fly through the air — hit him again to juggle him in the air for more points and more money. Enemies will sometimes drop their weapons (which you can use!) — keep juggling a dying enemy for a better chance of getting his weapon. If you juggle an enemy multiple times, they will launch into the stratosphere in a shower of coins.

Upgrades
Money you collect can be used to upgrade your abilities!

Punching: Upgrading this also improves your strength with things like Boxing Gloves!
Swinging: Upgrading this improves your strength with bats, mallets, banjos, and more!
Shooting: Upgrading this improves your strength with pistols and other guns!
Throwing: Upgrading this improves your strength with daggers and tomahawks!
Whipping: Upgrading this improves your strength with whips and chains!
Thrusting: Upgrading this improves your strength with power tools and thrusting weapons!
Launching: Upgrading this improves your strength with rocket and grenade launchers!
Health: Upgrade this for additional health!
Defense: Upgrade this for stronger defense against enemy attacks!

Mastering Weapons
Each weapon earns mastery points when it’s used to kill an Enemigo, which are shown as a yellow meter next to the weapon icon. The more you use a certain weapon, the more mastery points you will earn. When you’ve filled the meter, you will Master that weapon! When a weapon has been mastered, it will be 50% stronger than it was before!

Arsenal
You can view all of the weapons you’ve found and used in the Arsenal section of the Menu. The Arsenal shows the mastery points earned on each weapon, and will show a “crown” icon on any weapon that had already been mastered.

Purchasing Weapons
Any weapon you’ve used can be purchased in the Arsenal menu to use as a Starting Weapon. When you equip a Starting Weapon from the Arsenal menu, McCoy will start each level holding one of that type of weapon, for an extra advantage in the level. If you’re trying to master certain weapons, you can buy them as a Starting Weapon to make it easier to get mastery points right from the start of a level!

Challenges
Besides simply finishing an area, each location on your map has 5 Challenges you can complete for extra points. You can see your current progress on a level’s Challenges in the Menu, and will see what the Challenges are before and after playing a level. If you don’t finish a Challenge while in a level, you have to start that Challenge over! Try to focus on completing one Challenge at a time, or try to do multiples at once. It’s up to you!

Treasures

Each location also has 5 Secret Treasures hidden throughout the level. Explore off the beaten path and solve puzzles to find them all!

Badges

Besides area-specific Challenges, there are also Badges that can be earned anywhere by completing certain achievements. Badge progress carries over from area to area, so you’re always working towards earning these Badges! Kill a certain number of enemies with each weapon type to earn some Badges, and other activities like juggling enemies and breaking through walls! You can view the various Badges and your progress on each in the main Menu. You’ll also earn money and points when you earn each Badge.
